 If you are a pensioner, and you plan to travel overseas for whatever reason, it is vital that you get holiday insurance. This is because senior citizens are far more likely to need medical assistance on holiday than their younger counterparts, and without insurance, the cost of treatment can be astronomical.
Even though holiday insurance tends to be a lot pricier if you are a pensioner, you cannot afford to be without it. If, for instance, you should have to cancel your trip due to a family emergency or illness, and you didn't have holiday insurance in place, you would effectively lose any money that you had already paid towards the holiday.
One of the main benefits of holiday insurance is that it makes it a lot easier to get replacement prescriptions while you are away. If, for example, your luggage was mislaid by the airline, or you forgot to take all your prescribed medicines with you, it can be nigh on impossible to get a replacement prescription from either a local doctot or your doctor back home.
